til now. As a Prince of Hell, Azazel was one of the first demons created by Lucifer, along with Ramiel, Asmodeus and Dagon. Acting as a general for Hell’s armies, Azazel did his father’s bidding until Lucifer was locked in the cage. In the millennia after he remained loyal to Lucifer where others did not. Hoarding the information his father gave him, and with his demon children Meg and Tom at his side, Azazel continued to try and free Lucifer. In the 1970s he finally learned of a way from his Father. Break the 66 seals of Hell and prepare a ‘Special Child’. Azazel did this by making deals with desperate people to visit their children on the night of their six month birthday. Feeding demon blood to them at this time allowed the child powers as they grew up. By damning Sam Winchester this way Azazel guaranteed his own destruction. After Mary Winchester was killed that night, her husband and sons vowed to kill the Yellow Eyed Demon. Just when Azazel popped open the gates of Hell using his special children, the Winchesters managed just that with the Colt. Years later Rowena MacLeod brought him back from the Empty with a spell to screw her son over. Once released Azazel battled to do the same for his father. By convincing Sam to slaughter his special children in Hell, Azazel freed Lucifer. In the years since they have taken up residence in Mystic Falls, slowly trying to arrange the battlefield to their liking so that one day soon they may finally defeat Heaven.
friends. Ha! No. You'll find this demon isn't the friendly sort. There's no buddying up here. If he is trying to charm you, beware. It’s likely to be a trap. The only person Azazel is truly loyal to is his father, anybody else is to be used for as long as necessary and then tossed aside like a broken toy.
enemies. Crowley and the Winchesters will certainly be gunning for the Yellow Eyed demon but over the millennia Azazel has ticked a lot of people off with his tyrannical ways. Other demons he stepped upon, hunters he has tormented, the Special Children he created to make certain his Lucifer had a way out of the cage. His own underlings despise him as much as anybody and the feeling is often mutual.
family. Azazel only considered two people family, barring his father, and the Winchesters have made sure both of them are beyond his reach. Tom was considered his son, Meg his daughter, and Azazel is still smarting over the loss of the two of them.
lovers. This is unlikely to happen. Unlike Crowley there isn't enough human left in Azazel to even consider anything approaching relations with a human or anybody else.

til now. Bobby's life was one marred with violence long before the Winchesters came into it or he knew of the supernatural. Growing up in an abusive home in Sioux Falls, he killed his own father to protect his mother before he even hit his teens. As he got older and married, he avoided having his own kids to try and break the cycle of being a shitty father. Bobby argued about it with his wife days before she was possessed by a demon and killed during the exorcism. Karen's death was Bobby's first step into the world of hunting. For decades afterwards he did what he had to, trying to protect people from what was out there and, in the process, finding himself with two surrogate sons. After the death of their dad, Bobby became a pivotal part of their fight against Hell and other supernaturals, taking on that role of surrogate father again until he himself was killed by Dick Roman, head of the Leviathan. For a time afterwards Bobby existed as a ghost, and then spent time trapped in Hell before he was finally given his ride up to Heaven. Bobby remained there for a handful of years but when Heaven finally fell Bobby escaped back to life. Travelling to Mystic Falls to find Sam and Dean Bobby discovered a town full of supernatural problems and Sam on brink of being used by Hell again. Before they could stop it Sam helped to break open the cell in Hell. With Sam freed of Lucifer, Bobby has been turning his attention to the other supernatural threats in town, trying to his ‘family’ safe and sane.
friends. Castiel (when he's not touched in the head), Rufus Turner (deceased), Ellen Harvelle (deceased) Sensing a pattern here? Watch yourself if you get close to this man. Hunters rarely last long anyway but ones who are around Bobby and the Winchesters seem to suffer more than most. Both before and after coming back from the dead Bobby took a number of hunters and those who got too close to the fight against the supernatural under his wing, including Jodi and Garth. Break through that crusty curmudgeon exterior and you'll find someone loyal, stubborn and fierce that'll do anything to protect those he cares about.
enemies. Anyone whom tries to cross him or the Winchesters. Stay in the life as long as Bobby did and soon enough you'll have every son of a something coming after you.
family. Karen Singer (wife, deceased). Bobby had no kids with Karen, something he's gone on to regret but thanks to his watching of the boys when they were young Dean and Sam Winchester are surrogate sons for him. Since he's returned from heaven Bobby's learned that the family has extended to include Ben too, Dean's son.
lovers. Too damn unlikely. Be careful who you get involved with unless you wanna end up dead or watching what a woodchipper can do.

til now. The Argent family legacy had begun generations before Chris was born. 'We hunt those who hunt us' remained the family's motto and Chris grew up under his father's thumb, hunting alongside him and his sister Kate. By the time he married Victoria and Allison was born Chris was beginning to see the cracks in what his family were doing. For as long as he could he stayed away from Mystic Falls and stayed on the road with his wife and daughter. When Allison was in high school trouble again started in the town with Laura Hale's death. Chris returned and was rapidly up to his neck in the town's troubles. Victoria died, Kate was believed dead, although she had been turned by the Hales instead. In a battle against the oni to try and protect her friends Allison was killed too. Chris was left hollow, everybody he'd loved gone or turned into things he couldn't stomach. Eventually he went away to Paris with Isaac, called back only when a demon possessed his daughter and brought her back. The demon was exorcised from Allison by other hunters but for a time his daughter remained in a coma in Beacon Hills. After she was brought back all the way by a warlock the family returned to hunting. As a family in Mystic Falls the Argents are now not dedicated to hunting those who hunt them, rather they protect those unable to protect themselves.
friends. Hunters aren't always the friendliest folks out there. They have their people, those that hunt alongside them, but when paranoia is your base line it's hard to let people in. That being said Chris has opened up since his wife was killed and his loyalty began to slide from his father to Scott McCall.
enemies. This is a list that now includes his own father. For years the Argents helped to police the supernatural world, especially around Mystic Falls. What his father and sister did in the name of keeping their world peaceful added greatly to those looking for a little payback on the Argents. Chris is trying to live a peaceful life these days and avoid hunting where possible but what's in the family blood will always come calling.
family. Family is a touchy subject for Chris. His wife is dead, his sister is too and he's turned his back on his father. Until Allison was brought back by the demon that invaded her body he was a man cut adrift from all of those he had loved. Then for a time it was just him and Allison against the world - until Mystic Falls did what it seemed to best and returned both Henri and Marie-Jeanne Argent to life.
lovers. Chris was a man happily married until Victoria's death. Since he lost her he has remained cut off from any sort of relationship, refusing to look that far when grief has been a yoke around his neck.

Rowena MacLeod - the dictionary definition of 'cold hearted witch' - as likely to stick a knife in your back as she is to extend the hand of friendship. Henrik Mikaelson - the son I should've had all along. Honestly makes a demon's heart warm to know he has someone on his side.
lovers. Bobby Singer. Again, who are you kidding? The King of Hellformer doesn't need love, a little adoration on the right occasion's not so bad though.

friends. Denial, denial, denial. Damon will profess that he doesn't care about having any of these but in the last year he's started to gain some people who don't entirely hate him. Still, that's one F word he will never use willingly, not even for Ric, his drinking ... partner in crime.
enemies. Damon has never been shy about earning himself enemies. His sarcastic devil may care has a tendency to irritate others and pitting yourself against your brother and practically every other big bad thing that comes his way. No matter how long the list Damon won't show any form of concern.
family. Family has always been somewhat of a ... touchy subject for Damon. His relationship with his father was somewhat strained, especially after he returned home from the war. Losing his mother early in life changed him somewhat and things with Stefan ... well, that's been complicated from the moment Stefan forced him to feed. Promising his brother a lifetime of misery, Damon has spent much of the last century and a half as his brother's antagonist, often swooping in to drive Stefan crazy and shake his life up. Things now are perhaps more settled but in the wake of the revelation about Katherine, Damon has spent time away from Mystic Falls.
lovers. Damon will say that most of these have meant nothing and for the most part that's true. With his emotions off the woman doesn't really matter and is often nothing more than a means to an end. In truth, Damon's had a tender little heart at times. He fell for Katherine hard and was still in love with her when he discovered she had never been in the tomb. History has repeated itself when it comes to Elena, for a second time now Damon has found himself falling for his brother's girl.

friends. Hide and heal is a mantra Derek has had to rely upon heavily from the age of 15 onwards. Every time Derek has allowed himself close to people something tragic has happened. That hasn't stopped people from muscling into his life. These days he considers his pack friends, family. Scott, Chris, Allison, Lydia ... Stiles, he supposes.
enemies. Even without the Hale name Derek seems to have earned himself plenty of these ... first the Argents, most particularly Kate, the Alpha pack, now the Dread Doctors. It seems like there's always somebody out there determined to come after him and change who he is.
family. Very few of them are left alive. Once upon a time Derek Hale was the son of Talia Hale, a legendary Alpha, the brother of Cora and Laura, the nephew of Peter. There was always family around. These days only Cora and Peter are left.
lovers. Luck hasn't shone well on those Derek has fallen in love with. Forced to kill his first love when turning her into a werewolf went drastically wrong. His family almost all killed when the second set his house alight. The third attempting to pay the Alpha pack back by sacrificing half the town. Most recently Derek found himself tangled up with a hunter who almost killed him. Loving this man, it seems, is a total curse.

friends. A thousand years on earth should have garnered a vast network of friends. However, when your brother seems hell bent on destroying every single thing that displeases him in this world friends tend to be hard to come by. Perhaps beneficial acquaintances functions as a far better description.
enemies. Having a brother like Niklaus Mikaelson, being one of the most powerful beings on the planet, will certain guarantee few friends and numerous enemies. While Elijah is capable of making enemies on his own, most on his list are courtesy of his siblings and family name. No doubt with Niklaus returning to Mystic Falls to take the life of a doppelganger in his attempt to break the spell holding his wolf side in check this list will grow (perhaps even with the names of his own siblings as he works in that grey area between what his family desires and what Elijah’s conscience can live with).
family. Family has long been everything for Elijah. The death of not one, but two siblings, set his fate in place a thousand years ago and the vow he made to his brother and sister has guided almost every moment of his life since. So often Elijah has placed his family amongst every else, including his own happiness. Returning to Mystic Falls now, he finds himself torn between the family he has sworn allegiance to and his heart.
lovers. They have numbered many over the years. A heart is easy to give and love very easy to destroy, especially when your family seems hell bent on ensuring that your happiness will over ever exist in regards to theirs. In an Original’s life love interests tend to die all too frequently ... and return with an equal regularity. With all three Petrova doppelgangers in town Elijah has found his heart awakening once again.

til now. Abandon without a clue of his past. Years in a workhouse, more on the street, scrambling and thieving to survive. A brief respite of something better before his lungs started to fail him, Enzo knew suffering long before Lily Salvatore turned him on the way to New York and left him to figure out what he was by himself. For a few years afterwards Enzo was alone again before another angel found him. An angel who would happily employ his 'abilities' for a couple of decades before she tasked with something of the utmost importance, keep her boy alive in war. Inevitably Enzo would fail. Before he could slink away from the field to find himself a new life or take the punishment for his failure they found him. Over the next 75 years Enzo would be tortured by the Augustines with little respite. Slowly hardened to the pain they could cause, he clung on to that once hopeful heart he had, believing he would be free. It did not happen, his one chance of it snatched away as the man he had thought was a friend left him to burn. Now Enzo is being prepared for a new task by Wes Maxfield, one bound to cause pain but perhaps it will bring freedom finally too.
friends. Only one might even have been worthy of the name. As a child and a young man Enzo knew better than to let himself get close to anybody. The kids in the workhouse, his gang, the dockers, none of them wanted to grow close, the mob kept him as a tool, despite his place at the table. Damon was the only one ever to truly see beneath the surface and then he was leaving. It will take extraordinary lengths to break through that shell again.
enemies. Inevitably after years of torture - the Augustines. Currently led by Wes Maxfield, Enzo's hatred is targeted. Damon, for leaving him. What remains of Chiara's family perhaps, blood was certainly spilled after all.
family. It is Enzo's belief that he has none. Nobody laid claim to him at the workhouse but the truth was his mother had tried to protect him from his father and the thing being kept in the Armoury. An aunt long dead too. It would seem there are none left but there are secrets out there, which when uncovered will entirely change Enzo's world.
lovers. There is a romantic heart in the shattered shell. Perhaps his first real love was for Lily Salvatore, although this was perhaps more maternal than anything. There had some brief physical connections for but his heart opened for so few. Having fallen for Maggie, knowing that she wanted him to turn her and escape with her, Enzo compelled her for her sake and sent her away. After that he hardened his heart again, not imagining that perhaps he would ever be free of this place and able to live and love again.

til now. Growing up a Lockwood in a town where the Founding Families were venerated was a nightmare. The fact that his older brother, Richard, was the family's golden boy only made it worse. As the family's black sheep Mason saw no shame in befriending a girl from the wrong side of the tracks. Until he lit out of town at 18, determined to be anywhere but Mystic Falls, Maya was Mason's safe harbour in the town. After college, going to one where his parents couldn't call all the shots, Mason ended up in Miami. He spent days on the beach, nights in bars, completely unaware of what lurked in the Lockwood family closet until his new girlfriend 'Kathy' compelled his best friend into coming at him in a fight. Unable to stop Jimmy, Mason pushed him back and killed him as his friend smacked his head on the ground. The Lockwood curse was triggered and the next full moon Mason turned for the first time. Katherine soon explained her agenda - she was on the run from the Original family and by turning him she had the perfect victim for Klaus' ritual. The problem was when the time came Mason refused to go back to Mystic Falls. When Klaus performed his ritual someone else died in his place. Months later, when it became clear Tyler was struggling with the death of his father, Mason was called home. He'd avoided Richard's funeral but he couldn't leave his nephew and his cousin's daughter on their own. Mason moved into an apartment with Jeze, becoming her guardian, and tried to track Tyler down to get through to him. In more than a year of failing he started to pick up a stable life in the town - training to become a fire fighter, reconnecting with Maya, he's trying to be the best example he can to stop the next general of Lockwoods from ending up where he had.
friends. Away from Mystic Falls Mason grew close enough to some to call them friends, although in doing this he opened himself up to losing one of them in Katherine's scheme to trigger the curse he'd been born with. These days Mason doesn't want to risk many people in growing close to them. Undoubtedly there are enough who remember him in Mystic Falls to attempt some sort of reunion but he'll be wary to start with.
enemies. Up until he was suckered in by Katherine Mason would've said that his brother was the closest thing he had to an enemy. That's no longer the truth. What he is now is likely to turn people against him and with Niklaus' Mikaelson now a hybrid, Mason knows that there's likely to be more trouble ahead.
family. Family has rapidly shrunk for Mason. He was already somewhat estranged from his brother when Richard was killed. Since he's returned to town Mason has become guardian to his cousin's daughter - Jeze - and has done his best to try and build bridges with both his sister-in-law, Carol, and his nephew Tyler.
lovers. The last lover Mason had arranged for him to kill a friend in order to become a werewolf. Needless to say he's not rushing out to find another one just yet.

enemies. Over the last couple of years this has gotten longer and longer. Stiles would count everything from Deucalion to the demon currently inhabiting Allison on this list and knows that he's likely only to get more as time goes on.
family. Stiles and his dad are incredibly close, and have been since his mom died. With no other close relatives around Stiles has grown to count his friends as family, considering Scott his brother.
lovers. Technically there's only been one name on this list so far - Malia Tate - but Stiles has had close calls and long term crushes. Despite their friendship Stiles still has feelings towards Lydia in this regard and others have caught his attention over the years.

til now. Hunting was always going to be Alix's way of life. Growing up as a Quinn, the middle child and only girl among four boys, she was raised on the tradition that Quinns hunted anything and everything with no empathy for the things they took down. Little did Alix know that her own aunt had fallen for one of those things and would later be killed for it by her own dad and Uncle Ralphy. At 16 Alix nearly lost an arm to an alpha on her first solo hunt. Just three years later during a hunt for the Dread Doctors, Uncle Ralphy handed her over to the Docs. Changed into a werecoyote Alix fell into her uncle's manipulations. She bolted away from the family, leaving her eldest brother Rohan to spend six years looking for her, and hid out on a farmstead for a couple of years, eeking a living as a photographer. A phone call from Ralphy threatening to out her to the family sent Alix trailing all over the country, trying to get people out of the hands of the Docs and raking in the money for Ralphy by taking bounties on supernatural hunts. Eventually the Docs would head her to Mystic Falls where they were finally producing twisted success after success and where those bounties had become the Hit List. Finally tracked down by Rohan and having located their cousin Brady, Alix is trying to pull her life back together and finally escape the web Ralphy has kept her trapped in.
friends. Despite her family's tendency to move around for hunts Alix was usually able to make these fairly easily. Up until she escaped from the Dread Doctors, having become something she never wanted to be, she was a bit of an open book. These days it's harder to read her. Alix keeps the vulnerable core of herself from others with glib lies and slick acts. Some have started to break through though, connections in the hunting world giving her a network she hasn't had in years.
enemies. The only people on this list once were the things that her family had hunted for centuries but being taken by the Dread Doctors has changed that. Alix is now on the run from her own family and any other hunter who believes that anything supernatural is fair game. She's done all she could to break away from the Dread Doctors but Alix knows it's only a matter of time before they, or anybody on the list her uncle has her walking through, turns up to face her.
family. Family was always important to Alix but what the Dread Doctors did to her severed her close relationship with her parents and brothers. Now she's certain that at some some would hate her for what she was turned in to. The brother she was once closest to, Rohan, has found her again and bridges are being mended with both him and their cousin, whose parents were slaughtered by Ralphy and her father. Ralphy has become the downfall for her family, the one working with the Dread Doctors, the one whose manipulations have made her what she is.
lovers. Alix isn't ashamed to say she's had a few of these in the last couple of years. A girl's gotta find company somewhere and when you're not sure if your going to have your family hunting you, looking to kill you at any moment, she's got to take it when she can get it. Attachment is the one thing Alix is a little gun shy about, attachment could get someone else dead alongside her. She allowed herself to get a little too deep with Derek, letting him slip past her shields, before the discovery and revelation of the truth about who and what she was destroyed what was between them and almost got him killed. Now Alix is guarded again, knowing that dipping her toe in at all is a risk, even if that human connection is the only thing holding her together.

til now. Born minutes after his twin brother Eros, and very much living up to his name almost from birth, Ares grew up in a very close Greek community in Miami. His parents both worked in the legal profession but from a very young age Ares was focused on only one thing - the military. He dragged his brother along with him into the JROTC - after bargaining hard with his parents - and then into the Marines with him. Ares might not have had a concrete grip on his temper then but he'd eventually grown into the magic that had run in his family's blood for centuries in the Greek islands. Despite that temper he and Eros rose up the ranks in the Marines for a decade before they hit that camo print ceiling. Rise up any further and they were out of the field. Rather than be forced out the twins took themselves out. While Eros headed to Mystic Falls to make good on his medical training in the Marines and become a doctor, Ares went to the police academy in Miami where he'd meet Claire. A year after graduating Eros crooked his finger and the twins were reunited again in a town where the supernatural community was piling files high on the sheriff's desk. Reunited with Claire, Ares has settled into the job and the reality where he'll constantly find people to butt heads with.
friends. Despite a reputation for being a hot head Ares has plenty of these. His closest friend will always be his twin brother, even when they're fighting, but he's always made room for more. Ares was close to his marine corps unit and has formed strong friendships with his patrol partners, especially his current one.
enemies. Going to war multiple times should've put plenty of people on this list but the truth is that Ares has never taken war personally. As a cop he's likely to have earned more and once what he is gets around Ares imagines he'll be facing more animosity.
family. Ares' family is what has always meant the most to him. He might bicker with his twin brother, Eros, constantly, but when it comes down to it they're twins and nothing will ever come between them. Ares is aware that he probably drives his little sister Clio and his parents crazy too but at the end of the day this is a family that will always remain close.
lovers. In comparison with his aptly named brother there haven't been all that many of these. For a couple of years he was, by necessity, in a low key relationship with a Navy SEAL. Since he came to town his life has been almost monk like, except for the night tempers boiled over and Brooke Everett became the thickest brick wall he's ever smashed his head against.

Hoarding the information his father gave him, and with his demon children Meg and Tom at his side, Azazel continued to try and free Lucifer. In the 1970s he finally learned of a way from his Father. Break the 66 seals of Hell and prepare a ‘Special Child’. Azazel did this by making deals with desperate people to visit their children on the night of their six month birthday. Feeding demon blood to them at this time allowed the child powers as they grew up. By damning Sam Winchester this way Azazel guaranteed his own destruction. After Mary Winchester was killed that night, her husband and sons vowed to kill the Yellow Eyed Demon. Just when Azazel popped open the gates of Hell using his special children, the Winchesters managed just that with the Colt. Years later Rowena MacLeod brought him back from the Empty with a spell to screw her son over. Once released Azazel battled to do the same for his father. By convincing Sam to slaughter his special children in Hell, Azazel freed Lucifer. In the years since they have taken up residence in Mystic Falls, slowly trying to arrange the battlefield to their liking so that one day soon they may finally defeat Heaven.
friends. Ha! No. You'll find this demon isn't the friendly sort. There's no buddying up here. If he is trying to charm you, beware. It’s likely to be a trap. The only person Azazel is truly loyal to is his father, anybody else is to be used for as long as necessary and then tossed aside like a broken toy.
enemies. Crowley and the Winchesters will certainly be gunning for the Yellow Eyed demon but over the millennia Azazel has ticked a lot of people off with his tyrannical ways. Other demons he stepped upon, hunters he has tormented, the Special Children he created to make certain his Lucifer had a way out of the cage. His own underlings despise him as much as anybody and the feeling is often mutual.
family. Azazel only considered two people family, barring his father, and the Winchesters have made sure both of them are beyond his reach. Tom was considered his son, Meg his daughter, and Azazel is still smarting over the loss of the two of them.
lovers. This is unlikely to happen. Unlike Crowley there isn't enough human left in Azazel to even consider anything approaching relations with a human or anybody else.

Bobby argued about it with his wife days before she was possessed by a demon and killed during the exorcism. Karen's death was Bobby's first step into the world of hunting. For decades afterwards he did what he had to, trying to protect people from what was out there and, in the process, finding himself with two surrogate sons. After the death of their dad, Bobby became a pivotal part of their fight against Hell and other supernaturals, taking on that role of surrogate father again until he himself was killed by Dick Roman, head of the Leviathan. For a time afterwards Bobby existed as a ghost, and then spent time trapped in Hell before he was finally given his ride up to Heaven. Bobby remained there for a handful of years but when Heaven finally fell Bobby escaped back to life. Travelling to Mystic Falls to find Sam and Dean Bobby discovered a town full of supernatural problems and Sam on brink of being used by Hell again. Before they could stop it Sam helped to break open the cell in Hell. With Sam freed of Lucifer, Bobby has been turning his attention to the other supernatural threats in town, trying to his ‘family’ safe and sane.
friends. Castiel (when he's not touched in the head), Rufus Turner (deceased), Ellen Harvelle (deceased) Sensing a pattern here? Watch yourself if you get close to this man. Hunters rarely last long anyway but ones who are around Bobby and the Winchesters seem to suffer more than most. Both before and after coming back from the dead Bobby took a number of hunters and those who got too close to the fight against the supernatural under his wing, including Jodi and Garth. Break through that crusty curmudgeon exterior and you'll find someone loyal, stubborn and fierce that'll do anything to protect those he cares about.
enemies. Anyone whom tries to cross him or the Winchesters. Stay in the life as long as Bobby did and soon enough you'll have every son of a something coming after you.
family. Karen Singer (wife, deceased). Bobby had no kids with Karen, something he's gone on to regret but thanks to his watching of the boys when they were young Dean and Sam Winchester are surrogate sons for him. Since he's returned from heaven Bobby's learned that the family has extended to include Ben too, Dean's son.
lovers. Too damn unlikely. Be careful who you get involved with unless you wanna end up dead or watching what a woodchipper can do.

By the time he married Victoria and Allison was born Chris was beginning to see the cracks in what his family were doing. For as long as he could he stayed away from Mystic Falls and stayed on the road with his wife and daughter. When Allison was in high school trouble again started in the town with Laura Hale's death. Chris returned and was rapidly up to his neck in the town's troubles. Victoria died, Kate was believed dead, although she had been turned by the Hales instead. In a battle against the oni to try and protect her friends Allison was killed too. Chris was left hollow, everybody he'd loved gone or turned into things he couldn't stomach. Eventually he went away to Paris with Isaac, called back only when a demon possessed his daughter and brought her back. The demon was exorcised from Allison by other hunters but for a time his daughter remained in a coma in Beacon Hills. After she was brought back all the way by a warlock the family returned to hunting. As a family in Mystic Falls the Argents are now not dedicated to hunting those who hunt them, rather they protect those unable to protect themselves.
friends. Hunters aren't always the friendliest folks out there. They have their people, those that hunt alongside them, but when paranoia is your base line it's hard to let people in. That being said Chris has opened up since his wife was killed and his loyalty began to slide from his father to Scott McCall.
enemies. This is a list that now includes his own father. For years the Argents helped to police the supernatural world, especially around Mystic Falls. What his father and sister did in the name of keeping their world peaceful added greatly to those looking for a little payback on the Argents. Chris is trying to live a peaceful life these days and avoid hunting where possible but what's in the family blood will always come calling.
family. Family is a touchy subject for Chris. His wife is dead, his sister is too and he's turned his back on his father. Until Allison was brought back by the demon that invaded her body he was a man cut adrift from all of those he had loved. Then for a time it was just him and Allison against the world - until Mystic Falls did what it seemed to best and returned both Henri and Marie-Jeanne Argent to life.
lovers. Chris was a man happily married until Victoria's death. Since he lost her he has remained cut off from any sort of relationship, refusing to look that far when grief has been a yoke around his neck.

enemies. Damon has never been shy about earning himself enemies. His sarcastic devil may care has a tendency to irritate others and pitting yourself against your brother and practically every other big bad thing that comes his way. No matter how long the list Damon won't show any form of concern.
family. Family has always been somewhat of a ... touchy subject for Damon. His relationship with his father was somewhat strained, especially after he returned home from the war. Losing his mother early in life changed him somewhat and things with Stefan ... well, that's been complicated from the moment Stefan forced him to feed. Promising his brother a lifetime of misery, Damon has spent much of the last century and a half as his brother's antagonist, often swooping in to drive Stefan crazy and shake his life up. Things now are perhaps more settled but in the wake of the revelation about Katherine, Damon has spent time away from Mystic Falls.
lovers. Damon will say that most of these have meant nothing and for the most part that's true. With his emotions off the woman doesn't really matter and is often nothing more than a means to an end. In truth, Damon's had a tender little heart at times. He fell for Katherine hard and was still in love with her when he discovered she had never been in the tomb. History has repeated itself when it comes to Elena, for a second time now Damon has found himself falling for his brother's girl.

friends. Hide and heal is a mantra Derek has had to rely upon heavily from the age of 15 onwards. Every time Derek has allowed himself close to people something tragic has happened. enemies. Even without the Hale name Derek seems to have earned himself plenty of these ... first the Argents, most particularly Kate, the Alpha pack, now the Dread Doctors. It seems like there's always somebody out there determined to come after him and change who he is.
family. Very few of them are left alive. Once upon a time Derek Hale was the son of Talia Hale, a legendary Alpha, the brother of Cora and Laura, the nephew of Peter. There was always family around. These days only Cora and Peter are left.
lovers. Luck hasn't shone well on those Derek has fallen in love with. Forced to kill his first love when turning her into a werewolf went drastically wrong. His family almost all killed when the second set his house alight. The third attempting to pay the Alpha pack back by sacrificing half the town. Most recently Derek found himself tangled up with a hunter who almost killed him. Loving this man, it seems, is a total curse.

enemies. Having a brother like Niklaus Mikaelson, being one of the most powerful beings on the planet, will certain guarantee few friends and numerous enemies. While Elijah is capable of making enemies on his own, most on his list are courtesy of his siblings and family name. No doubt with Niklaus returning to Mystic Falls to take the life of a doppelganger in his attempt to break the spell holding his wolf side in check this list will grow (perhaps even with the names of his own siblings as he works in that grey area between what his family desires and what Elijah’s conscience can live with).
family. Family has long been everything for Elijah. The death of not one, but two siblings, set his fate in place a thousand years ago and the vow he made to his brother and sister has guided almost every moment of his life since. So often Elijah has placed his family amongst every else, including his own happiness. Returning to Mystic Falls now, he finds himself torn between the family he has sworn allegiance to and his heart.
lovers. They have numbered many over the years. A heart is easy to give and love very easy to destroy, especially when your family seems hell bent on ensuring that your happiness will over ever exist in regards to theirs. In an Original’s life love interests tend to die all too frequently ... and return with an equal regularity. With all three Petrova doppelgangers in town Elijah has found his heart awakening once again.

til now. Abandon without a clue of his past. Years in a workhouse, more on the street, scrambling and thieving to survive. A brief respite of something better before his lungs started to fail him, Enzo knew suffering long before Lily Salvatore turned him on the way to New York and left him to figure out what he was by himself. For a few years afterwards Enzo was alone again before another angel found him. An angel who would happily employ his 'abilities' for a couple of decades before she tasked with something of the utmost importance, keep her boy alive in war. Inevitably Enzo would fail. Before he could slink away from the field to find himself a new life or take the punishment for his failure they found him. Over the next 75 years Enzo would be tortured by the Augustines with little respite. Slowly hardened to the pain they could cause, he clung on to that once hopeful heart he had, believing he would be free. It did not happen, his one chance of it snatched away as the man he had thought was a friend left him to burn. Now Enzo is being prepared for a new task by Wes Maxfield, one bound to cause pain but perhaps it will bring freedom finally too.
friends. Only one might even have been worthy of the name. As a child and a young man Enzo knew better than to let himself get close to anybody. The kids in the workhouse, his gang, the dockers, none of them wanted to grow close, the mob kept him as a tool, despite his place at the table. Damon was the only one ever to truly see beneath the surface and then he was leaving. It will take extraordinary lengths to break through that shell again.
enemies. Inevitably after years of torture - the Augustines. Currently led by Wes Maxfield, Enzo's hatred is targeted. Damon, for leaving him. What remains of Chiara's family perhaps, blood was certainly spilled after all.
family. It is Enzo's belief that he has none. Nobody laid claim to him at the workhouse but the truth was his mother had tried to protect him from his father and the thing being kept in the Armoury. An aunt long dead too. It would seem there are none left but there are secrets out there, which when uncovered will entirely change Enzo's world.
lovers. There is a romantic heart in the shattered shell. Perhaps his first real love was for Lily Salvatore, although this was perhaps more maternal than anything. There had some brief physical connections for but his heart opened for so few. Having fallen for Maggie, knowing that she wanted him to turn her and escape with her, Enzo compelled her for her sake and sent her away. After that he hardened his heart again, not imagining that perhaps he would ever be free of this place and able to live and love again.

til now. Growing up a Lockwood in a town where the Founding Families were venerated was a nightmare. The fact that his older brother, Richard, was the family's golden boy only made it worse. As the family's black sheep Mason saw no shame in befriending a girl from the wrong side of the tracks. Until he lit out of town at 18, determined to be anywhere but Mystic Falls, Maya was Mason's safe harbour in the town. After college, going to one where his parents couldn't call all the shots, Mason ended up in Miami. He spent days on the beach, nights in bars, completely unaware of what lurked in the Lockwood family closet until his new girlfriend 'Kathy' compelled his best friend into coming at him in a fight. Unable to stop Jimmy, Mason pushed him back and killed him as his friend smacked his head on the ground. The Lockwood curse was triggered and the next full moon Mason turned for the first time. Katherine soon explained her agenda - she was on the run from the Original family and by turning him she had the perfect victim for Klaus' ritual. The problem was when the time came Mason refused to go back to Mystic Falls. When Klaus performed his ritual someone else died in his place. Months later, when it became clear Tyler was struggling with the death of his father, Mason was called home. He'd avoided Richard's funeral but he couldn't leave his nephew and his cousin's daughter on their own. Mason moved into an apartment with Jeze, becoming her guardian, and tried to track Tyler down to get through to him. In more than a year of failing he started to pick up a stable life in the town - training to become a fire fighter, reconnecting with Maya, he's trying to be the best example he can to stop the next general of Lockwoods from ending up where he had.
friends. Away from Mystic Falls Mason grew close enough to some to call them friends, although in doing this he opened himself up to losing one of them in Katherine's scheme to trigger the curse he'd been born with. These days Mason doesn't want to risk many people in growing close to them. Undoubtedly there are enough who remember him in Mystic Falls to attempt some sort of reunion but he'll be wary to start with.
enemies. Up until he was suckered in by Katherine Mason would've said that his brother was the closest thing he had to an enemy. That's no longer the truth. What he is now is likely to turn people against him and with Niklaus' Mikaelson now a hybrid, Mason knows that there's likely to be more trouble ahead.
family. Family has rapidly shrunk for Mason. He was already somewhat estranged from his brother when Richard was killed. Since he's returned to town Mason has become guardian to his cousin's daughter - Jeze - and has done his best to try and build bridges with both his sister-in-law, Carol, and his nephew Tyler.
lovers. The last lover Mason had arranged for him to kill a friend in order to become a werewolf. Needless to say he's not rushing out to find another one just yet.

family. Stiles and his dad are incredibly close, and have been since his mom died. With no other close relatives around Stiles has grown to count his friends as family, considering Scott his brother.
lovers. Technically there's only been one name on this list so far - Malia Tate - but Stiles has had close calls and long term crushes. Despite their friendship Stiles still has feelings towards Lydia in this regard and others have caught his attention over the years.

til now. Hunting was always going to be Alix's way of life. Growing up as a Quinn, the middle child and only girl among four boys, she was raised on the tradition that Quinns hunted anything and everything with no empathy for the things they took down. Little did Alix know that her own aunt had fallen for one of those things and would later be killed for it by her own dad and Uncle Ralphy. At 16 Alix nearly lost an arm to an alpha on her first solo hunt. Just three years later during a hunt for the Dread Doctors, Uncle Ralphy handed her over to the Docs. Changed into a werecoyote Alix fell into her uncle's manipulations. She bolted away from the family, leaving her eldest brother Rohan to spend six years looking for her, and hid out on a farmstead for a couple of years, eeking a living as a photographer. A phone call from Ralphy threatening to out her to the family sent Alix trailing all over the country, trying to get people out of the hands of the Docs and raking in the money for Ralphy by taking bounties on supernatural hunts. Eventually the Docs would head her to Mystic Falls where they were finally producing twisted success after success and where those bounties had become the Hit List. Finally tracked down by Rohan and having located their cousin Brady, Alix is trying to pull her life back together and finally escape the web Ralphy has kept her trapped in.
friends. Despite her family's tendency to move around for hunts Alix was usually able to make these fairly easily. Up until she escaped from the Dread Doctors, having become something she never wanted to be, she was a bit of an open book. These days it's harder to read her. Alix keeps the vulnerable core of herself from others with glib lies and slick acts. Some have started to break through though, connections in the hunting world giving her a network she hasn't had in years.
enemies. The only people on this list once were the things that her family had hunted for centuries but being taken by the Dread Doctors has changed that. Alix is now on the run from her own family and any other hunter who believes that anything supernatural is fair game. She's done all she could to break away from the Dread Doctors but Alix knows it's only a matter of time before they, or anybody on the list her uncle has her walking through, turns up to face her.
family. Family was always important to Alix but what the Dread Doctors did to her severed her close relationship with her parents and brothers. Now she's certain that at some some would hate her for what she was turned in to. The brother she was once closest to, Rohan, has found her again and bridges are being mended with both him and their cousin, whose parents were slaughtered by Ralphy and her father. Ralphy has become the downfall for her family, the one working with the Dread Doctors, the one whose manipulations have made her what she is.
lovers. Alix isn't ashamed to say she's had a few of these in the last couple of years. A girl's gotta find company somewhere and when you're not sure if your going to have your family hunting you, looking to kill you at any moment, she's got to take it when she can get it. Attachment is the one thing Alix is a little gun shy about, attachment could get someone else dead alongside her. She allowed herself to get a little too deep with Derek, letting him slip past her shields, before the discovery and revelation of the truth about who and what she was destroyed what was between them and almost got him killed. Now Alix is guarded again, knowing that dipping her toe in at all is a risk, even if that human connection is the only thing holding her together.

til now. Born minutes after his twin brother Eros, and very much living up to his name almost from birth, Ares grew up in a very close Greek community in Miami. His parents both worked in the legal profession but from a very young age Ares was focused on only one thing - the military. He dragged his brother along with him into the JROTC - after bargaining hard with his parents - and then into the Marines with him. Ares might not have had a concrete grip on his temper then but he'd eventually grown into the magic that had run in his family's blood for centuries in the Greek islands. Despite that temper he and Eros rose up the ranks in the Marines for a decade before they hit that camo print ceiling. Rise up any further and they were out of the field. Rather than be forced out the twins took themselves out. While Eros headed to Mystic Falls to make good on his medical training in the Marines and become a doctor, Ares went to the police academy in Miami where he'd meet Claire. A year after graduating Eros crooked his finger and the twins were reunited again in a town where the supernatural community was piling files high on the sheriff's desk. Reunited with Claire, Ares has settled into the job and the reality where he'll constantly find people to butt heads with.
friends. Despite a reputation for being a hot head Ares has plenty of these. His closest friend will always be his twin brother, even when they're fighting, but he's always made room for more. Ares was close to his marine corps unit and has formed strong friendships with his patrol partners, especially his current one.
enemies. Going to war multiple times should've put plenty of people on this list but the truth is that Ares has never taken war personally. As a cop he's likely to have earned more and once what he is gets around Ares imagines he'll be facing more animosity.
family. Ares' family is what has always meant the most to him. He might bicker with his twin brother, Eros, constantly, but when it comes down to it they're twins and nothing will ever come between them. Ares is aware that he probably drives his little sister Clio and his parents crazy too but at the end of the day this is a family that will always remain close.
lovers. In comparison with his aptly named brother there haven't been all that many of these. For a couple of years he was, by necessity, in a low key relationship with a Navy SEAL. Since he came to town his life has been almost monk like, except for the night tempers boiled over and Brooke Everett became the thickest brick wall he's ever smashed his head against.
