PERSONALITY:
As a child, Effie was an excitable and fun loving girl. She loved the out doors and playing with her sisters, along with the other children that lived on her street. Although, when her parents split up, when she was ten, her bubbly nature started to slip away. She felt anger towards her father for cheating on her mom, which then caused her to become more reserved. More so as she started high school. As she got older she began to push people away, not wanting to get hurt in the same way her father had hurt her by leaving, and preferred to just be around her sisters or the few close friends she had. Nowadays, she is very protected by her older siblings which is just making her more upset and her personality has turned a lot more angry, and she is feeling the need to get some distance from her family.
HISTORY:
Effie was born the youngest out of four to Dylan and Jayne Colt, with two older sisters and one older brother. Unknown to Effie, her family has a long heritage of witches that were strongly linked to Louisiana. This, however, was never explained or mentioned to Effie or the rest of her siblings since of the conflict within in the witch community which actually involved their mother. It was the reason why her mother stopped practicing magic, along with the fact that their father had asked his wife to as well. The only one of her siblings that knows about their heritage, is their brother Gabriel. He was sworn not to tell his family at the request of their parents.
As a child Effie was happy, not as popular as the rest of her siblings were in school, but that didn't exactly bother her. She was simply happy with the friends she had, and the fact she was nearly always surrounded by some sort of family. Living in a small town she never went long with out bumping into someone she knew, but as she got older she gradually became more and more reserved. Towards the last few years of her middle school, she began to notice her father becoming more and more distant from her family. Work, he had told her and the rest of her family as to where he was going, but for some reason she did not believe him entirely. It not longer after she started high school did he leave, and her suspicions were confirmed.
Effie spent the next few years hating her father, which caused her to become much more reserved. She pushed all of her friends away, and just spend most of her time with her family. Her once happy nature was only shown towards her family, and rarely showed it to anyone who wasn't. Most of her friends became very distant, and she was left very alone. So, as soon she was able to apply for college, she applied for one the furthest away from her home town and majored in Biology and Geography. A year into college she received news that her mother was diagnosed with cancer, and this year she passed away. Because of this, Effie dropped out of college and headed home to live with her brother and sisters in Cloistere. There she got a part-time job in a store, working for Katie Dupré .
